Nubia Youth Magazine Black History Month Special
Novena-Chanel was centrefold interview for the Black History Month Special Edition of
Nubia Youth. This was an especially important edition as it contained an interview with one of the media pioneers, the late Flip Fraser, the founder of the BLACK HEROES IN THE HALL OF FAME, and the first editor of the Voice Newspaper, Novena-Chanel grew up being greatly inspired by.
Interviewed for their 'Enterprise' section, Novena-Chanel spoke about her
time as a homeless teenager, and this being the driving force to her working with young people, families and gangs, as well as starting up her first social enterprise, The Youth Caterpillar Project.
The interview explores her views on 'gang culture', the undiagnosed PTSD suffered by a lot of young people, and the need of positive role models within the community and lives for young people. Read more here
