Self-Care has become such a buzz word that nearly everyone is taking about, but few are truly taking the time to really, wholly, and unapologetically, nurture, love, nourish, and cars for self. Few admit not actually knowing how to really do it.
So here's a Cookie Jar of Self-Care reminders and activities to help breakdown and promote, true, Self-Care. Things to tend to the mental/emotional, social, physical, and spiritual elements of our wellbeing.
You can either create a Cookie Jar of Self-Care activities that you can pick out once per week (or when yiu decide to do it), with things like having a warm bath, going for a road trip, listening to music, spending time with a loved one, meditating, eating a good meal, or more, or you can create any or all of the ones in the video.
A Cookie Jar of Dates (with yourself) - remind yourself that the way you treat yourself sets the platform for how others treat you, by treating yourself to dates. Things like going to the cinema, going to a museum, going for a nice meal, and more.
A Cookie Jar of Accomplishments. Sometimes we filter out our success and focus on the things not going right. So write down all the things you have achieved, and constantly dip in your jar to remember. Then clap for yourself! Well done.
A Cookie Jar of Reminders. For those who live with anxiety, or simply need some reminders during the day, create a Cookie Jar of Reminders that you can bring to the Office with you, or keep to hand.
Reminders with meditations, breathing exercises, or simply 'having a word with yourself', can be so helpful.
Whatever you do, just remember to treat yourself with love, compassion, kindness, and care.
Here's a video of the directions to make one, or why not just come to one of my Workshops and create one there? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUPqNd8_a-w&feature=youtu.be
